TreeSisters is a UK registered social change and reforestation charity that places tropical forest restoration into everyone’s hands. Through individuals and businesses that give back to Nature every month, TreeSisters has so far funded the planting of over 18 million trees across 12 locations in Brazil, Borneo, Cameroon, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar, Nepal and West Papua.

They fund a diverse portfolio of tropical reforestation projects that are
ethical, community-led, expand natural forest cover and aim to avoid further deforestation. Their projects support local communities and improve livelihoods, protect critically endangered species, and focus on gender parity and the participation of women. These projects are a direct and measurable way to restore the web of life and mitigate climate change.

TreeSisters is an invitation to everyone to do as much radical good as they can for the planet. Our global network of treesisters is transforming both lives and landscapes in extraordinary ways.TreeSisters offers unique global programs that focus on encouraging women’s leadership, Nature-connection, and significant behaviour change as we make the shift from being consumers to restorers.

“Women are the greatest untapped resource on this planet.Women are wild, powerful forces of nature. But how many of us have become tidy, contained, acceptable versions of ourselves when raging rivers run beneath the surface? We need those rivers, let loose in creative expression and audacious action. Freed up and bonded together we could move mountains. What could be more needed than millions of heart centered women offering their gifts in service to the one who Mothers us all?” ~ Clare Dubois, Founder & CEO,TreeSisters

TreeSisters – restoring our planet with TreeSisters

Period Power is a charity which helps to work towards eradicating period poverty. They work with a large number of organisations and charities in Staffordshire,West Midlands and beyond, to supply them with period products. This ensures that vulnerable women and girls, who would otherwise have to resort to using toilet paper, old rags or anything that would suffice as “period protection”, can have access to the correct products.

They also supply and support almost 200 schools so that “All our Girls” will be able to access their full education and not have to miss days from school because they cannot leave their homes for fear of bleeding through their uniforms.

They have worked with a number of Fire Services throughout East and West Midlands by supplying them with pads and tampons to be placed in all of their staff and community toilets throughout their services. This enables these Fire Services to be Period Dignity employers and to offer good quality period products to all of their staff and visitors.

“Our work has also involved working with Stoke-on-Trent City Council supplying them with products to be placed in all of their 180 ladies’ and disabled toilets across the city. This makes Stoke-on-Trent City Council the first Period Dignity City Council in England, an achievement of which we are very proud.”
